Fairy Fountain Ocarina Of Time Locations And How To Find Every Fountain

Finding every Great Fairy Fountain in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is essential for upgrading Link's combat skills and magic capacity. These hidden sanctuaries offer powerful spells, enhanced defense, and vital inventory upgrades that make surviving Hyrule much easier. Knowing where each fountain is located allows players to systematically unlock all special gifts throughout their journey.

Great Fairy Fountains Encountered as Child Link

The first Great Fairy Fountain can be accessed at the summit of Death Mountain after obtaining the Spin Attack and Magic Meter. Players must blow up the blocked entrance near the owl using a Bomb to meet the Great Fairy of Magic. Acquiring this initial magic capacity lays the foundation for using advanced combat techniques later in the game.

Another crucial early location is situated outside Hyrule Castle behind a heavy boulder that requires Bombs to clear. Crawling through the exposed opening leads to the Great Fairy of Magic, who grants Din's Fire. This powerful offensive spell creates a ring of flames necessary for solving environmental puzzles throughout Hyrule.

Magic Spells and Secrets Hidden Around Hyrule

To acquire Farore's Wind, head to Zora's Fountain and swim toward the southeastern corner of the map. Detonating a Bomb against the fragile wall reveals a hidden tunnel leading directly to the sanctuary. This utility magic enables Link to create warp points inside treacherous dungeons, saving valuable time during exploration.

Great Fairy Locations Found as Adult Link

After transforming into Adult Link, returning to Death Mountain Crater reveals another hidden sanctuary near the entrance. Using the Megaton Hammer to break the large red rocks blocking the cave grants access to the Great Fairy of Wisdom. She doubles Link's Magic Meter, ensuring plenty of energy for high-cost spells and magical arrows.

A major defensive upgrade awaits players behind the Temple of Time in the future timeline. Equip the Megaton Hammer to smash the heavy obstacle concealing the hidden entrance in the corner. Entering this sacred space grants double defense, which cuts all incoming damage from enemies in half.

The Final Fountain in the Desert Colossus

The ultimate Great Fairy Fountain is located in the Desert Colossus region near the entrance to the Spirit Temple. Players must place a Bomb between two palm trees along the rock face to blow open the hidden entrance. Visiting this final Great Fairy bestows Nayru's Love, a protective barrier spell that grants temporary invincibility against attacks.
